for the school and introduced various software programs

Documented the visit
and activities utilizing digital photography
While in Bangladesh,
visitors observed the Victory Day Parade in Jamalpur, where the POPEF middle
and elementary school drill teams competed in the marching and drill
events. Out of approximately 30 participating teams, our schools were
awarded three first place plaques and one second place plaque. No
other school present received more than one award.
Other activities which
occurred at the school include:

Introduced gymnastics
to the elementary students, and formed a POPEF gymnastics team (watch for
them in the Olympics 8 years from now!)

Completed second story
and new middle school additions, including painting exterior
-
Increased the number of
students per class in grades 6, 7, 8 and 9
-
Held testing for 570
students who applied for 67 open positions
-
Completed painting the
exterior of the elementary and middle schools
-
Participated in the
mandatory fifth grade class exam; 31 of the 37 students received A’s, and 6
received B’s
-
All visitors came away
with an appreciation for the progress being made at the schools.
Fortunately, the earthquake and tsunami did not have an adverse impact on
the schools, nor the country as a whole.
